TechPoint welcomes new hires, expands support of tech ecosystem
We often pen stories about our community’s tech growth and scale that we see from companies and entrepreneurs on
TechPoint announced earlier this year that we would be hiring for five new roles. Thanks to the network of our audience and the tech ecosystem at large, we received an overwhelming amount of interest and applications. And thanks to a very talented few who rose to the top, we were successful in our search.
“We aren’t growing to hit a certain number of team members,” says Mike Langellier, TechPoint President and CEO. “Instead, we’re growing to increase our support of the broader tech community by boosting our effectiveness at amplifying stories of success and building an engaged community.”
In total, TechPoint’s headcount grew from 12 to 17 in March 2019, and we are proud to welcome the following individuals to our team:
Ashlee Wilson Fujawa, Senior Marketing Manager
Ashlee joins us most recently from the IU Office of Sustainability, where she was hired to manage a rebranding project for the organization. You may also know her as a previous voice for the Keep Indianapolis Beautiful newsletter, or from her many adventures around Indianapolis with her husband and two pups. Ashlee’s role as a Senior Marketing Manager includes running both our digital and traditional marketing strategies, enhancing our brand and voice, and expanding TechPoint’s reach in and out of Indiana.
Kat Locascio, Program Operations Manager
Kat joins us most recently from her role as an IT Recruiter at GEICO. Her work allowed her to be quite attuned to the hiring needs of a large tech-enabled company, which will translate to her support of TechPoint’s talent programs. Kat’s role as a program operations manager includes supporting the Xtern, Grid
Jennifer Merrell, Senior Relationship Manager
Jennifer joins us most recently from her role as Principal at Ginovus, a globally recognized site selection consulting firm. Through her previous role, Jennifer led marketing and business development efforts to help companies make the best decisions when choosing a location for job creation and capital investment. Jennifer’s new role as a Senior Relationship Manager includes one-to-one support of TechPoint’s member companies and their access to critical growth ingredients.
Andy Nielsen, Director of Research and Policy
Andy joins us most recently from his role as Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen in Washington, D.C. Andy’s career since graduating Indiana University with a degree in economics has been in politics as analysts, advisors, and legislative support. His role as the Director of Research and Policy is new and will allow TechPoint to focus on access and insights into data that will inform our workforce, venture capital, and policy initiatives.
Cheryl Reed, Media Relations Manager
Cheryl joined us in February to support our growing media relations needs for TechPoint and the broader tech ecosystem. She most recently worked directly for Angie Hicks at Angie’s List as
Varchasvi, PR Coordinator
Varchasvi joins us most recently from her work for a PR agency in India, where she pitched top-tier Indian media outlets to gain positive media attention for the telecommunications industry that she worked in. Her work as TechPoint’s PR Coordinator will allow us to further our media relations reach.
