The fourth quarter of 2018 turned out to be a busy one for both venture capital investments and acquisitions in Indiana. Over $45 million in funding was publicly announced, with $34.8 million going to Scale Computing of Indianapolis in one of the largest capital raises for a tech company in Indiana in recent years.

During the third quarter of 2018,  there were eight publicly announced capital raises by Indiana tech companies with a combined total of over $23 million in funding along with a $100 million raise by local venture studio, High Alpha.

During the second quarter of 2018, there were six publicly announced capital raises by Indiana tech companies with a combined total of over $18 million in funding. There were also six acquisitions of Indiana tech companies by out-of-state companies, while two Indiana tech companies were on the acquiring end of these transactions.

During the first quarter of 2018, there were four publicly announced capital raises with a combined total of over $33 million. There were also six acquisitions of Indiana tech companies by out-of-state companies, while two Indiana tech companies played the role of acquirer.

The fourth quarter of 2017 finished the year strong with over $105 million in publicly announced investments and acquisitions involving Indiana tech and tech-enabled companies.
