As a software development expert at Emarsys you will work on innovative projects that solve real customer problems and alongside other engineers, product managers, and business leaders, build the future of the Emarsys Customer Engagement Platform. Your leadership will allow you to be an influencer and force-multiplier not only for your engineering team, but across the Emarsys product development organization.

You will not only be responsible for designing, building, and evolving system architecture but also empowering teams to deliver high-quality solutions through code reviews and technical leadership. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and to collaborate across teams will be critical to your success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead planning, design, discussion, development, testing, building and maintaining of scalable, resilient and high-performance applications running in the cloud
• Dive into complex software systems to build an understanding of how they work and how to improve them
• Own the end-to-end technical strategy, architecture, and execution of a new software feature or project
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by understanding the challenges your team is facing and responding to them
• Collaborate with your team and stakeholders to ensure that your team delivers high-quality software which solves important business problems
• Coach junior developers, perform code and design reviews, and foster innovation within the team
• Help make Emarsys the #1 customer engagement platform in the world

QUALIFICATIONS

• Expert-Level Programming Skills: 8+ years of experience in designing and building production-grade software with a deep understanding of software development principles and the software development lifecycle.
• Proven ability to provide technical direction and resolve complex issues.
• Self-motivated, curious, open-minded, resourceful, agile, and pragmatic
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Significant experience with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with DevOps technologies like Terraform, Ansible/Chef/Puppet, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience with networking technologies like DNS, HTTPS, TLS, TCP/IP, and load balancing is a plus
