Recognizing companies that are investing in innovation, committing to diversity, equity, and inclusion; boosting Indiana’s reputation nationally/internationally; and leveraging their resources to scale and make a positive impact in our community.

Startups and small businesses may be the backbone of the Indiana tech industry, but without the emergence of large businesses, there wouldn’t be a competitive playing field for talent. Our tech ecosystem relies on the guidance and actions of companies with over 100 employees as much as it does on the tech companies  just getting off the ground.

The Large Enterprise of the Year award recognizes tech companies (including tech enabled) that are succeeding in the marketplace; investing in innovation; committing to diversity, equity, and inclusion; boosting Indiana’s reputation nationally/internationally; and leveraging their resources and scale to make a positive impact in our community. We especially encouraged applications from employers who are advancing diversity, equity and inclusion and/or creating employment and development pathways to underrepresented individuals.

Our 2022 nominees understand that tech-enabled work pushes performance to a higher level. It allows seamless communication between teams, ease of access to data and processes, and it even allows work to become more resourceful and tasks less time-consuming. Not every enterprise is a tech-based company, but our nominees are invested in incorporating tech into their culture and workspaces. As a result, these enterprises experience clear returns on their investment in tech in their culture, talent, communities, and most importantly, their bottom lines.

This year’s nominees include a global pioneer in the security industry, a global animal health company, Indiana’s largest healthcare system, and a leader in pneumatic technology. Each bring different benefits to our tech ecosystem, including employment, global reach, and a focus on best in class excellence.

The 2021 winner, Eli Lilly and Company, jumped at the chance to make sure their employees were given the opportunity to work in safe and secure environments during the height of the pandemic while simultaneously maintaining their responsibility of supplying medicine for over 40 million people, globally. Since then, Eli Lilly has maintained the same set of core values, successfully looking out for the people that do the work and are the foundation of their business while still serving those 40 million consumers. They are also implementing a brand new Apprenticeship Program to open opportunities in the community for employment to those who don’t have four-year degrees.

This year’s Large Enterprise nominees include:

  • Allegion PLC (c/o Schlage Lock Co LLC) (Carmel, Ind.) — Allegion’s brands continue to innovate, developing new products to meet the health and safety needs of today’s environment and bring to life our vision of seamless access for a safer world.
  • Elanco (Greenfield, Ind.)— Elanco’s Healthy Purpose advances the well-being of animals, people, and the planet, enabling us to realize our vision of Food and Companionship Enriching Life.

“The Mira Awards gala is not only the biggest tech event in the state, it’s also the barometer of Indiana’s tech industry growth, strength, and dynamism,” said Mike Langellier, president and CEO of TechPoint. “The robustness of this year’s class of nominees bodes well for our tech community’s future, and we’re excited to finally, hopefully, celebrate together in person after two years of remote galas during the pandemic.”

The 2022 Mira Award winners will be announced during TechPoint’s in-person gala at the JW Marriott on Saturday, April 23, with presenting sponsor Salesforce. This will be the first in-person gala held since 2019, before the COVID pandemic.
