It’s been 23 days since the 23rd annual Mira Awards gala was held on April 23rd, which was the first in-person gala TechPoint has hosted in three years due to the pandemic. To say the excitement of gathering together as a community again was palpable is insufficient—the crowd was downright rowdy in the best possible way!

“I joined TechPoint in February of 2020, so this was my first time planning and attending the gala in person after working to produce the last two virtual events,” said Events Manager Anna Rauh. “Everyone told me it was something special and I thought I knew what to expect, but I didn’t know how proud it would make me feel to be a part of this incredible community. It was electric. The ballroom erupted as each award winner was announced and the buzz never died down.”

In addition to presenting sponsor Salesforce, studio sponsor Comcast Business, platinum sponsor Ice Miller and the more than 80 sponsors who generously supported the gala this year, TechPoint credits the success of the 2022 Mira Awards gala to the tremendous hard work and creativity of a handful of valued production partners.

Year-after-year, these creative and dedicated professionals provide world-class products and services that are vital to producing the state’s largest and longest running technology awards program and delivering nominees and guests an unforgettable experience from the moment they arrive at the JW Marriott until the final award winner is announced.

The 2022 Mira Awards production partners included:

TechPoint is grateful to these exceptional partners and encourages anyone producing events to reach out to them to level-up their productions and deliver a world-class guest experience.

Markey’s

Markey’s provided stage sets, lighting, sound, video playback, video recording and projection at the Mira Awards gala. Markey’s is probably the unsung hero of the production because no one notices when everything is flawlessly executed. However, their work, especially their creative contributions during the planning process, are essential to building and maintaining the energy of the awards gala.

PAETHOS

PAETHOS created the videos played during the Mira Awards gala. From the spectacular opening video sequences to the category introductions and nominee recognition videos, and from the touching Trailblazer tribute video to Bill Oesterle to the Mira Awards Experience video embedded above, PAETHOS’ Tanner Halbig provided top-notch creative direction and execution that set the tone for the gala, delivered everything we asked for, and provided many elements we didn’t know we needed!

Sapphire Strategy

Sapphire Strategy did an incredible job of capturing the essence of Mira Awards gala theme of “Together” with the striking mural and program cover art that so many guests posted and shared on social media. It became the iconic image of “Tech’s Biggest Night” this year, but it was only one piece of Sapphire’s work. The creative agency also designed all of the printed materials for the gala, including the sponsor easels, table numbers and signage, as well as the event program. It’s not easy. Sapphire not only got the job done well, they made it a cool-looking souvenir for attendees to take with them.

Tactive

Tactive advised and printed the gorgeous Mira Awards souvenir event program that featured all of the Mira Award nominees and gala sponsors. They also printed the directional signs placed around the event venue, the sponsor easels, and table numbers. The look and feel of all of the materials was extremely high quality and matched the top-notch production of the gala.

Indianapolis Business Journal and Inside Indiana Business

This year marked the 10th consecutive year that TechPoint has partnered with Inside Indiana Business and host Gerry Dick to interview each Mira Award winner as they came off the stage during the gala, just like they do at the Oscars and Grammy Awards. Gerry is such a knowledgeable and generous host who does an exceptional job helping to tell the stories of each winner, made possible through the sponsorship of Comcast Business.

This was also the first time TechPoint had the opportunity to partner with IBJ Media, the parent company of Indianapolis Business Journal and recently acquired Inside Indiana Business. In addition to the Inside Indiana Business videos and TV broadcast, IBJ Media produced and distributed the special edition Inside Edge and IBJ Daily digital newsletters that were jam-packed with information about each and every award winner.

Maribeth Smith & Associates

This was TechPoint’s first time partnering with Maribeth Smith & Associates for added bandwidth and experience on the event planning side of the production, and the team was impressed by the sage advice and valuable relationships that the well-known agency brought to bare to great impact.

“It’s hard for me to put everything they did into a single quote, but what I valued most about partnering with Maribeth Smith & Associates on the Mira Awards gala was that I felt like I could focus on the things that really needed my personal attention because I knew Jen and Andretta had my back and were handling everything else,” said Anna Rauh.
