IU Ventures wins Investor of the Year Mira Award
IU Ventures won the Investor of the Year award during TechPoint’s 22nd annual Mira Awards gala honoring the best of tech in Indiana.
With the goal of enabling Indiana University affiliated entrepreneurs and innovators to have a positive impact on the world, IU Ventures invests in early-stage, high potential companies through three programs—the IU Philanthropic Venture Fund, the IU Angel Network and the IU Founders & Funders Network.
The Mira Awards judges noted that with 15 separate investments and follow-on fundings, IU Ventures was one of the most active funding sources in the state during the pandemic, and not just in Central Indiana, but statewide.
The judges also pointed to IU Ventures dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion as a great example for others, as more than 50% of the companies IU Ventures has invested in since 2018 have had women or minority founders, CEOs, or other C-suite members.
TechPoint, the nonprofit, industry-led growth accelerator for Indiana’s tech ecosystem, honored the successes and innovation of Indiana people, places, companies and products during the 22nd annual and second virtual Mira Awards gala with presenting sponsor Salesforce.
