VIDEO: Award Winners Race to More Capital with Mira Glory
On “Fast Friday” in May before the Indianapolis 500 race, TechPoint brought together media and investors from 10 different venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks and angel investor groups to meet face-to-face with current and past Mira Award winners, who represent the best of tech in the state of Indiana.
“TechPoint’s Winners Circle event today really reaffirmed for me the incredible wealth of innovation that is taking place in Indianapolis and Indiana and in the Midwest in general,” said Paul Noglows, executive producer, Forbes. “They have the talent here, they have the resources, but they also have the quality of life and I think, increasingly, that’s going to make cities like Indianapolis, states like Indiana more and more of an incubator and a hotbed for technology innovation.”
Michael O’Hare, managing director of Pacific Crest Investment Banking out of New York, New York, said: “TechPoint offers companies and advisors and VCs a real opportunity to collaborate with and meet some of the latest, greatest technology companies in Indianapolis and Indiana.”
“The experience was awesome today, I was excited to meet and develope relationships with a number of entrepreneurs today,” said Nihar Shah with Pritzker Group Venture Capital out of Chicago.
Aman Brar, president, Apparatus Infrastructure Services — winner of the 2015 TechPoint Mira Award for Tech Company of the Year — shared his thoughts on the Winners Circle. “It’s pretty amazing to see — here in Indianapolis — something I don’t think we would have been able to accomplish a decade ago. We’ve got a variety of venture capital firms and a variety of leaders from great technology companies, and we’re sitting at tables together getting acquainted and understanding how we’re going to continue to fuel the growth.”
What is the Winners Circle?
TechPoint’s Mira Awards represent the best of tech in Indiana, but they are more than beautiful glass awards and the pomp and circumstance of the gala ceremony. The awards program offers winners a spot among elite performers in the state, valuable exposure, and access to the Indiana Tech Companies List and events like the Winners Circle on Fast Friday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), which included contacts from Forbes, The Indianapolis Star, and 10 different investor groups.
