The 25th annual TechPoint Mira Awards gala has come to a close, but there’s more to share from the event’s glitzy Red Carpet where nominees, winners, sponsors and supporters alike posed for the paparazzi. Dozens also talked with Red Carpet Hostess Angie Stocklin, sharing thoughts on “tech’s biggest night,” why they wouldn’t miss it and its importance to the Indiana digital innovation community.

The spotlight quite rightly shined most brilliantly on the winners, but the Red Carpet attracted first-time attendees and at least one couple who were at the gala’s debut in 2000. The annual gala, a celebration of Indiana’s thriving tech landscape, brings together the brightest minds, the boldest innovators, and the most groundbreaking technologies and technological achievements under one roof. The silver anniversary celebration at the Old National Centre on April 26, attracted nearly 2,000 celebrants.

Armed with a microphone and her boundless curiosity, Stocklin commanded the Red Carpet and gathered the essence of the momentous occasion, engaging with tech luminaries and industry titans – many of them old friends – to uncover the stories behind the tech achievements shaping Indiana’s innovation community.

“The first couple I interviewed had been coming to the Mira Awards since the very first year they were held,” Stocklin said. “They were extremely excited to be there to celebrate and support technology in Indiana and it was a good reminder to me, early on in the evening, of how important our community is. That sentiment was reiterated again and again throughout the evening from long-time attendees to first timers.”

Over the Mira Award gala’s 25-year history, approximately 2,500 Indiana tech innovators have been nominated for recognition. An elite group of just 328 Mira Award winners have received the coveted awards that are recognized statewide and beyond as a stalwart indicator of excellence and masterful achievement.
