Scott Dorsey's name recognition among the tech sector in Indiana is probably only slightly less than ExactTarget — the company he co-founded and leads as CEO. Todd Wagner's name isn't as instantly recognizable, but it should be. And it will be after Dorsey and Wagner take the stage together Thursday for the M-Tech Power Panel at 5:15 p.m. at the JW Marriott.

Dorsey and Wagner both graduated from Indiana University, and both co-founded and built tech companies that sold for billions. TechPoint President and CEO Mike Langellier will ask them about these experiences and the future of technology, marketing and media during the live TV talk show style interview followed by Q&A with the M-TECH audience.

The fastest route to "flipping the light switch" on who Wagner is, would be to tell you that he pioneered Internet broadcasting with Mark Cuban.

From Wagner's Bio
In 1995, Wagner joined with fellow Indiana alumnus Mark Cuban to launch AudioNet (later changed to Broadcast.com), which broadcast live sporting events and radio stations over the Internet. Wagner and Cuban took the company public. setting an opening-day record. In 1999, Broadcast.com was sold to Yahoo! for $5.7 billion. Wagner continued to lead the business as a division of Yahoo! until May 2000, when he declined an offer to become Yahoo!’s Chief Operating Officer to focus on other interests.

Wagner next allowed his passion for entertainment to be his guide as he embarked on business ventures that brought powerful, important films to theatres. But he never stopped investing in and building technology and media companies like his first.

From Wagner's Bio
Wagner later fused his passion for entertainment with his business portfolio to build the Wagner/Cuban Companies. This vertically integrated portfolio of companies spans content creation, distribution and exhibition: 2929 Entertainment, 2929 Productions, Magnolia Pictures, Landmark Theatres and AXS TV.

Wagner’s business interests also include a stake in the World Champion Dallas Mavericks, as well as in The Weinstein Company, Content Partners LLC, and continues to invest in and nurture a variety of technology and media start-ups. In 2012, Wagner was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame, which recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of outstanding Texas business leaders.

Through the Todd Wagner Foundation he hasinvested  significanttime energy and resources for more than a decade, into MIRACLES®, Minority Technology Fund, After-School All-Stars (ASAS), and the nationally renowned Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) college preparatory public school program that recently launched in Indianapolis.
