Position Overview
Butler University’s Information Technology department is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Infrastructure Systems Analyst who is eager to join a team that values education, collaboration, innovation, and fun. The Analyst will be involved with Butler’s enterprise infrastructure technology at all levels, including virtualized compute environment, backup and storage systems, wired and wireless networks, and associated applications (including but not limited to Windows Server/Ubuntu, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, ESXI, and VCenter.) Additionally, the Analyst will have the unique opportunity to participate in business ventures as part of a new Butler entity in service to the local community. Alongside this, the Analyst will have the opportunity to obtain a variety of technology certifications including Cisco, Ruckus, Synology, and others.
As a member of the Butler IT team, the Analyst will be responsible for designing and implementing robust solutions, managing system configurations, and ensuring seamless integration with emerging technologies. The role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing system performance, and staying abreast of industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions, in addition to daily operational work (including provisioning, de-provisioning, patching, configuration updates, and remediating security issues). The Analyst will also work with hardware vendors, provide detailed written documentation of support protocols for supported systems, and provide occasional end-user training.
