Indy-based Salesvue has secured $3 million in venture financing in a round led by St. Louis-based Cultivation Captial. It’s the first time the venture capital firm has invested outside of St. Louis.

From the press release —

Salesvue said Tuesday that it has secured $3 million in funding. Cultivation Capital led the round. In conjunction with the funding, John True, an investor at Cultivation Capital, has been added to Salesvue’s board. Based in Indianapolis, Salesvue is a provider of software solutions for sales reps.

Salesvue (www.salesvue.com), a software solution that brings automation and insight to the outbound sales process resulting in significantly more sales per rep, announced it has raised $3 million to propel the company’s continued growth. St. Louis-based venture capital firm Cultivation Capital is the lead investor.

Salesvue’s cloud-based application is available on salesforce.com’s AppExchange and helps companies such as Angie’s List, Verdasys and PERQ automate and choreograph the outbound sales process — from prospecting to pipeline — so sales reps can sell faster and smarter.

Bill Johnson, president and CEO of Salesvue, and a group of private investors also participated in the investment, which will be used to expand sales and marketing efforts nationwide, and to build additional functionality in the solution.

“Prospecting is the ‘Wild West’ of sales: each rep sells their own way and managers don’t have insight into what works,” said Johnson. “Salesvue adds structure and process to prospecting, delivering insight into which selling activities grow the pipeline. This investment will give us the resources to build awareness of Salesvue and drive growth throughout North America.”

Salesvue also announced that John True, an investor at Cultivation Capital and serial entrepreneur, will join its board.

“This is one of Cultivation Capital’s first investments outside of St. Louis,” True said. “The firm has multiple investments in the sales-enablement software space. Salesvue increases the productivity of inside sales teams. The mainstream adoption of Marketing Automation tools has significantly increased lead volumes. Salesvue accelerates the process of converting leads into qualified pipeline.”
