MOBI’s second annual Untethered Summit, held October 3-5 at The Alexander in downtown Indianapolis, is one of the up and coming national tech events that happens to be designed and developed right here in Indy by our own tech ecosystem.

MOBI is an award winning Indianapolis technology company whose solutions provide customers with software and services to manage their overall mobility. The 2017 MIRA Awards Tech Company of the Year winner has grown to over 300 employees with customers all over the world. MOBI’s users are able to efficiently manage thousands of mobile devices over multiple carriers and worldwide locations often resulting in considerable cost savings.

Untethered brings together customers and enterprise mobility industry experts to discuss the latest mobility trends and to see the newest innovations from MOBI. This year’s Summit has grown to nearly 200 participants–up 27% from the inaugural event held last year.

The Alexander Hotel in downtown Indianapolis offers a unique taste of the Circle City for out-of-town guests attending MOBI’s Untethered Summit.

A major concern for companies managing hundreds or thousands of mobile devices is the amount of money spent on overages.Chris Koeneman, senior vice president at MOBI, presented results from the company’s recent research project revealing more than 60 percent of the decision makers said that half or more of a typical employee’s monthly wireless carrier bill is spent on overages. The problem is even greater for companies with higher revenues and more devices. The same survey showed that one third of IT professionals surveyed cannot confidently identify the locations of all of their mobile devices and data.

“We’ve seen a lot of growth in the industry as organizations have expanded globally,” notes Scott Kraege, CEO and Co-Founder of MOBI. “This expansion requires the modern enterprise to manage technology on a new scale, and we allow our customers to develop a global standard for their mobility programs that can be replicated and optimized even as the organization expands into new regions or countries.”

The closing sessions of Untethered featured the unveiling of MOBI’s latest workflow manager platform and new automation robots designed to intelligently automate functions like user chat support, new device orders, email and data collection. The new “MOBOTS” with names like Audrey, Johnny, Otto and Mikey have been created with artificial intelligence and will make end-user interaction easier, faster and more productive. MOBI plans to host the event again in 2018 with further growth anticipated. For more information, visit https://untetheredsummit.com/.
