Indy Women in Tech Foundation 2017 Community Impact
Think back to September 2016 when it was announced that an LPGA championship would come to Indianapolis and combine four topics: golf, women, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and tech. The event was held to bring awareness to issues affecting youth and especially women in tech, and the collective impact went much further than the driving range.
With the establishment of the Indy Women in Tech Foundation, Indianapolis saw marked progress toward tech and STEM initiatives that impact education, workforce, mentorship and more. Thanks to the community partners and sponsors of the Indy Women in Tech LPGA Championship and the many tech-specific events that took place during the tournament, the Indy Women in Tech Foundation was able to provide grants and scholarships to help the future and current workforce see their next career options. See our graphic below for a snapshot of the activity for partners such as Eleven Fifty Academy, Ivy Tech Community College, TechPoint Foundation for Youth, and more.
