World-class production partners create ‘Tech’s Biggest Night’ Mira Awards experience
Producing the state’s largest and longest running technology awards program is a massive undertaking that begins before the previous Mira Awards gala is even over. The year-round process and six-month awards season requires a lot of hard work and contributions by valued partners to deliver the incredible experience guests, nominees and award winners have come to expect.
It all begins with TechPoint staff and our events management partner Positive Energy Events, who work together to create “Tech’s Biggest Night” — a celebration of our thriving tech community; the “Best of Tech” products and companies of Indiana; and the tech leaders and builders who bring it all to life.
In addition to our presenting sponsors Angie’s List, Infosys and Salesforce, and the more than 70 sponsors who generously supported the annual gala this year, the tremendous contributions from our long-time production partners make the Mira Awards the fun, memorable event that it is. Year-after-year, these creative and dedicated professionals provide world-class products and services that are vital to the success of the TechPoint Mira Awards.
TechPoint’s 2018 Mira Awards production partners include:
- BLASTmedia (www.blastmedia.com)
- Generation Moonshot (generationmoonshot.com)
- Markey’s Rental and Staging (markeys.com)
- Positive Energy Events (positiveenergyevents.com)
- Print Resources (printindy.com)
BLASTmedia is responsible for the timely and creative Mira Awards Opening Video — TQ Trivia: Tech Community Fun — that parodies the popular live HQ Trivia game hosted by Scott Rogowski, who is a doppelganger for TechPoint President and CEO Mike Langellier!

They also produced the Trailblazer Award Tribute Video to John Wechsler and all of the category introduction videos that recognize this year’s nominees.
Additionally, BLASTmedia did a fantastic job of creating a video of new branding elements and highlights from the new website, and TechPoint Index media platform and products that played on the giant screens in the ballroom while Mike Langellier and Sara Croft, senior director of communications, introduced everything the to record-breaking Mira Awards gala crowd.
The new TechPoint brand, website and TechPoint Index were conceived and designed by Innovatemap and built for the web by Generation Moonshot. Learn more about these exciting new resources.
Finally, BLASTmedia developed the Mira Awards 2018 Experience video (embedded above) featuring interviews with sponsors, nominees, award winners and more! Selected videos are available on the TechPoint YouTube Channel.
Generation Moonshot provided design for all printed materials at the Mira Awards including the tickets, nametags, signage and the beautiful programs handed out to all attendees as well as providing support for the Mira Awards web landing page, three acts theme creative and on-screen graphics featuring each of our presenting sponsors.

Markey’s Rental and Staging, once again, transformed a ballroom into an amazing Hollywood-like awards show experience that makes the Mira Awards one-of-a-kind with so much energy and excitement! Beyond equipment, a professional crew of Markey’s employees provided stage sets, lighting, sound, video playback, video recording and projection for the record-breaking number of attendees.
As the Exclusive Audiovisual Production Company of TechPoint, Markey’s provided event technology and design working in tandem with Positive Energy Events, creating the “Oscars-like” feel of the ballroom and set the mood with uplighting and video monitors in other areas like the VIP Lounges that enhanced the overall experience. You can get a great feel for the overall Mira Awards staging created by Markey’s in the “Mira Winners on Stage” photo album on Facebook.

Print Resources delivered way beyond expectations with a gorgeous Mira Awards souvenir event program that matched the top-notch gala production. The look and feel of all of the materials was extremely high quality and helped to set the tone of the event the moment guests registered and held printed pieces like tickets in their hands. Print Resources also produced quality directional signs and sponsor recognition signs.
Positive Energy Events is vital to the success of TechPoint’s events strategies dating back to 2013. As our long-time event planning partner, +e (Positive Energy Events) has continued to deliver incredible results for events from the Mira Awards to Tech 25 to our Talent Programs Finalist Day.
