Hiring tech talent in Indy? Become an Xtern host company
If you are a fast-growing tech company in Indianapolis, it’s likely you’re hiring tech-skilled talent. We see the job descriptions on our job board and hear about major jobs announcements in the news. Indy is emerging as a tech hub, and talent is at the core of it all.
That’s why we launched Xtern, the ultimate tech internship, in 2014. Since then, Xtern has facilitated 415 internship experiences in 83 local employers for students from 53 universities and 35 states. And now that many of those students have graduated, they chose Indy for their home because of their amazing experiences living and working with brilliant talent like themselves. Students can now apply for the Xtern Class of 2018 and our TechPointX talent team is out on campuses recruiting this next generation of tech talent.
Are you ready to become the next Xtern host company?
Due to the increased interest in internships, employers are finding competition amongst themselves to attract the best talent, especially between small businesses or startups and established enterprises. Companies that sign on board for Xtern remove the burden of being on campus to recruit, processing hundreds of applications, and onboarding students into their culture and the Indy tech ecosystem. Even companies with robust recruitment campaigns can lean on the Xtern experience to fill in the gap for social programming, professional networking and collaboration amongst likeminded peers. There were 1,300 applications for the Xtern Class of 2017. From those applications, students completed technical screens that were judged by Hoosier university professors to determine who would thrive in a 10-week tech-skilled internship. Companies then get to review the list of Xtern finalists, choose their preferred candidates to interview, and interview them in one swoop at Xtern Finalist Day. Matches are made on the spot, so companies and students walk away knowing who they will work with during the 2018 summer.
